Shipping Policy

1. Lithium battery shipping (please read)

Xirsix modules are lithium-ion batteries (lithium titanate, UN 3480, Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods). Each module is roughly 550 Wh, well above the 100 Wh small-battery exceptions. Shipments are therefore regulated under US DOT 49 CFR (ground) and IATA/ICAO (air). The cells used in Xirsix modules are UN38.3 tested.

What this means for you:

• Ground shipping only. Modules ship by FedEx Ground with Class 9 hazmat labeling. No air, expedited air, or overnight service (air transport of these batteries is limited to cargo aircraft only, and we do not offer it).
• Packages carry Class 9 lithium battery markings. This is normal and required.
• We ship only to street addresses in the contiguous 48 US states. We do not ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO/DPO addresses, Alaska, Hawaii, or US territories.

2. Where we ship

Contiguous 48 US states only. We do not offer international shipping.

3. Shipping rates

Shipping is a flat $80 per module by FedEx Ground, with the hazmat surcharge included. For example, an order of three modules ships for $240. Approximate shipping weight is about 23 lb per module, including packaging.

4. Processing and delivery times

• Most orders ship within 3–5 business days after payment. Modules are built and tested in New Mexico, so larger orders may take longer; we will email you an estimated ship date.
• FedEx Ground transit is typically 1–5 business days, depending on destination.
• You will receive a tracking number by email when your order ships.

5. Fleet, government, and bulk orders

Online checkout is limited to 9 modules per order. Orders of 10 or more modules, purchase-order (PO) orders, and fleet deployments ship by LTL freight on a pallet and are priced by quote. Use our quote form or contact sales@xirsix.com for a quote, lead time, and delivery requirements (dock or liftgate).

6. Receiving your shipment

Inspect the package on delivery. If the box is crushed, punctured, or wet, or the module is damaged:

• Do not install or charge the module.
• Note the damage with the carrier if possible, take photos, and contact us within 5 days of delivery.
• We will arrange a replacement or return under our Return Policy. Do not ship a damaged module back without our instructions.

7. State of charge on arrival

Modules ship at partial charge (about 50–60% state of charge), ready for installation in a 12 V vehicle system. See the Installation & Usage Guide (XIR-IG-MOD6S40-001 Rev B) for installation and charging.

8. Lost packages

If tracking shows no movement for 7 business days, contact us. We will open a claim with FedEx, and once the carrier confirms the loss, you can choose a replacement shipment or a full refund.

9. Sales tax

We collect sales tax on orders shipped to New Mexico (gross receipts tax) and Texas, calculated at checkout from the shipping address. Shipping charges are taxed where the law requires it.
